A federal public sector organization is modernizing how it delivers its network and infrastructure services. The consultant advises senior IT leadership on strategy, provides direction to several project managers, and sets the procedures that govern delivery.

The mandate runs about 11 months and is performed primarily remotely, with occasional on-site presence in the National Capital Region at the consultant's expense.

The work: advise leadership on network and cloud modernization; review, assess and optimize network components across a distributed estate; guide the application of Government of Canada security controls and security assessment and authorization work; develop business strategies and IM/IT transformation roadmaps.

What is required: roughly ten years of experience as a senior advisor developing business strategies and business processes; a post-secondary degree in business administration or computer engineering from a Canadian institution, or a recognized equivalency; experience in cloud strategy; IM/IT transformation experience as an IT executive in a large, decentralized organization; recent experience reviewing and optimizing network components. The work is performed in English; bilingualism is not required.

What helps: a CISA certification or equivalent, ideally with a second one; several years in multi-site international cloud networking; solid command of Government of Canada security controls and of the security assessment and authorization process.
